I also tried XAMP. Not bad. My production site will be on Centos with PHP/APACHE and either mySQL or PostgreSQL. Any thoughts on why Adobe only offers built-in support for mySQL but not for PostgreSQL would be appreciated. Both are good databases. Thanks for the hint on the discount but I already have the hard copy of your great book. Take care and keep writing great books!

Thanks for reminding me, Emile. The URL is rather hard to find, so I have created <a href="http://foundationphp.com/blog/2008/04/18/url-for-recorded-adobe-seminar/" rel="nofollow">a separate blog post about it here</a>.

Yes, I have tried MAMP briefly. It seems very good. I'm glad to hear that you are finding it reliable.

David thanks for this great Book. I appreciate the accuracy and the detailed coverage for Mac. Have you ever used MAMP (http://www.mamp.info/en/index.php)
It is quick and easy to setup on the Mac and I have adapted the examples in your book to work with it without any trouble.
