Live and learn. Well, I just ordered your "Foundation PHP for Dreamweaver 8." Chapter 12 on "Using XSLT to Display Live News Feeds and XML" looks very interesting. Using your "Foundation PHP 5 for Flash" book, I actually figured out how to make an RSS feed with Magpie and PHP on webpages. So, I want to see how Chapter 12 handles the same topic. I love your books...keep up the great work!

Hi, Patrick. Moral of the story - never lend a book that you value to other people. Make them buy their own copy. Two reasons: you may never get it back, and the author needs the royalties from the extra sales. :)

There are no plans to reissue "PHP Web Development with Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004". The book sold quite well, but once a new version of software comes out, publishers turn all their attention away from books devoted to previous versions. Dreamweaver 8 came out in September 2005, so all attention switched to <a href="/dreamweaver8/" title="Go to the book's companion site" rel="nofollow">"Foundation PHP for Dreamweaver 8"</a>. I'm currently hard at work updating that book, so that it's ready for whenever the next version of Dreamweaver is released.

I really loved "PHP Web Development with Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004". I let a friend borrow the book, and I can't get it back! Is a updated edition coming out in the future? I like the way it shows all the ins and out of Dreamweaver with PHP.

Hi Colin,

The friends of ED forum is definitely alive and well. The link is <a href="http://friendsofed.infopop.net/" rel="nofollow">http://friendsofed.infopop.net/</a>. I answer questions there, usually several times a day.

Anyway, feel free to ask your question here, and I'll do what I can to help.

Hi David,

I've a problem arising from Foundation PHP Dreamweaver 8 and had hoped to get advice at the friends of ed forums. I've read the errata page and my problem is not listed there.

However clicking on the forums link at friends of ed goes nowhere! Are they no longer running forums for their books?

I've been trying to find an email address for you, but drawn a blank, so apologise for contacting you in this manner.

Thanks,

I would just like to say how much I enjoyed this book, having won it in a competition at DMX Zone :-) Although I would hve bought it anyway as I have all of the previous DW/PHP books you have been involved in previously in my book case beside my desk.
Can I add my vote for a beginners Flash Book to link into PHP as well please.
Thanks,
